Peer Lab
Peer Facilitating Lab builds on the skills learned in the Peer Facilitating I course by allowing students the opportunity to serve as Peer to Peer Counselors. Peer Counselors facilitate social learning and growth in Huron’s student body through Brief Intervention Services and conflict management for student’s real-life concerns. Client confidentiality will be maintained at all times unless as required by law, at such time a Professional Counselor will become involved.

Peer Lab Policies
- Students must have a pass from a teacher to attend the peer lab (unless it is their lunch or free hour).
- Anyone who visits the Peer Lab must sign in and will be marked excused "GUI" in PowerSchool by the end of the school day. Attendance sheets are turned in to Ms. Van Cleve, Peer Advisor, to be entered into PowerSchool attendance records.
- Attendance to the Peer Lab is monitored for "frequent flyers" or students repeatedly missing the same class. If teachers have a concern about student use of Peer Lab, please contact Ms. Van Cleve, who will follow-up.
- 2 visitors maximum at a time.
- Visit the peer lab with an issue, not just to skip class or gossip.
- The peer lab is a confidential space with the exception of self-harm, harm to others, suicidal thoughts, or abuse.
