Obligations

Textbooks are in limited supply and are becoming more and more expensive to replace each year especially older editions. Prices on hardcover textbooks range from $35 to $250 and paperbacks from $5 to $40. If you lose a book, even as a result of theft, accident, or natural disaster, you must pay for it.

If a book is abused while on loan to you, you must pay for it.

An Obligation List is prepared at the end of the year listing overdue textbooks, novels, and their borrowers with a Student ID number.

Failure to return all books will result in your name and student ID being placed on the list and the loss of certain privileges, including the ability to register for the following year, get a transcript, or receive a diploma until such books and obligations are paid for or returned.

Obligations stay on a student's record until they are cleared, regardless of whether or not he/she is still attending Huron.

Payments can be may by cash or check payable to Huron High School. Payments are accepted at the General Office during regular school hours. YOUR RECEIPT MUST BE GIVEN TO THE BOOK DEPOSITORY FOR THE OBLIGATION TO BE CLEARED! You or your student will receive a different receipt from the book depository stating the obligation has been cleared.
