Luke Milne joined the Huron family in 2016 as a Social Studies teacher after teaching in International Baccalaureate (IB) schools Lansing and Flint to begin his career. In that time, he has developed a deep understanding and passion for what an IB education provides students before and after graduation. Mr. Milne holds a Bachelor's degree in Secondary Social Studies Education and a Master’s degree in K-12 Administration from Michigan State University. He has also worked closely with the University of Michigan Social Studies Teacher Preparation Program.
Mr. Milne has taught World History IB, U.S. Government IB, and Diploma Programme (DP) History Years 1 and 2 at Huron High School and 5-8th Grade Social Studies at prior schools. In 2025, Mr. Milne accepted a new role at Huron as the Middle Years Programme (MYP) Coordinator and DP History teacher. This position has afforded Mr. Milne the opportunity to work with teachers to improve their craft and continue to work with students to develop their historical skills and understanding. Mr. Milne is an active member of the IB Schools of Michigan (IBSOM) network, has coached football and baseball at Huron, and advises the Huron Model United Nations club.
